OBJECTIONS TO VALUATIONS. The Assessment Court, which was_ set up to deal with objections to valuations placed by the State Valuation Department upon Wellington City properties, has not yet concluded its business. The Court sat again on Saturday morning, and the proceedings will be continued at 10 o'clock this morning. The'.Court; om-resuming on Saturday, heard the objection of Sarah Downes to tho capital valuation of £26,875 on the Pier Hotel property, 65ft. by 80ft. The unimproved valuation was'£l7,B7s, and the improvements , were- valued "at £9000. The: Departmental assessments were sustained. The capital valuation of £1390 put upon J. Hoard's property, part Section 445, Mount Street, was left unaltered, but the unimproved valuation was reduced from £815 to £765, and the valuation of the improvements was'increased from £575 to £625. ' . Adjustments as follow were made to the valuations of three properties in Taranaki Street belonging to the same objector:—Part Section 185,' 22ft.. by 45ft.: Capital value £506 (reduced to £475), unimproved value £281 (reduced 1 to £250), improvements £225 (as at present). Part Section 185, 35ft.. by 67ft.: £655 (reduced to £620), £455 (reduced to £420), improvements £200 (as at present). Part Section 185, 27ft. by 99ft.: Capital and improved values reduced from £945 to £735. A reduction from £5925 to £5750 was made in tho capital valuation of Thomas Young's property, Part 24 Town Acre 216, off Taranaki Street (area 586 ft. by 36ft.).
