They are well supplied -with m r>? 6 S uns - Prisoners state there are sixty-six gun batteries. inere are many police posts, whioh are virtually blockhouses, manned by ex-artillerymen, dotted all over the country. The military and tho reserves are armed with Mausers and one-edged bayonets, which are saw-like. The stations are connected by telephone, telegraph and wireless. The territory will be difficult for operations. There are several defensive stations of- great strength.
