WELLINGTON CRUISING CLUB,
At the annual meeting of the Wellington Cruising Yacht Club, it- was d«to open the season on November 14 trith a r»ce to a- bay to be decided upn, titeiirards visiting the flapthip Ailsa for β-fteraodn tea. Four Aggregate races trill'be sailed during the season, the first two dates being November 21 and December 5. The. club will not make any especial display during the time that \va.r lasts, and hae Instructed its.delegates' to recommend the ■ Wellington and Petone Yacht and Motor-boat Association not to hold n combined opening day.'.;. When peace is declared it is hoped that a- jubilation display by'allbcat's in'the harbour maj be arranged by the association. The following officer's were elected for -the ensuing year:—Chairman, F. W. -Petherick; fiecrotary and treasurer, Arthur- Petherick; auditor, A. M. Holmes; starter, judge, and timekeeper, N. ■'M'Brido; -delegates to Yachting Association,, Messrs. B. L. Donne aiid Alf. Petherick. Sympathv was expressed at the lengthy illness o'i Mr. W. H..Evatt, and a resolution passed hoping for hie speedy recovery. A presentation was made Mr. N. M'Bndo in appreciation of his services as starter, judge, and timekeeper. The trophies won during the past season were presented to tie following: Ailsa, first prize aggregate races, 17 points; Itona, seoond, 16 points; Kotiri, -fiurd, Hvpoints.''-' '.. ■ ■ .-
