WAR EXPLOSIVES
LECTURE BY PROFESSOR-EASTER- ■,..... FIELD. '.:.''* The lecture to bo given by Professor Easterfield next Tuesday night on the subject of war explosives promises to be both educational and perhaps somewhat sensational, as tho Professor is' arranging- a,series' of experiments with modem war explosives to illustrate his remarks. Lyddite, gelignite, cordite, picric acid, and all the high-power' explosives will _be dealt with in the course of tho evening. -As the .Williamson Proprietary has generously given' tho free use of the Opera House, tho Patriotic Funds should. benefit considerably by the lecture. . His Excellency the Governor has extended his patronage to the lecture, and the - chair will probably be taken by the Prime Minister.
