BOMBARDMENT OF TSINGTAU

Toklo, September 80. The Japanese fleet and a British warship homDardod two of the Tslngtau forts on Monday last. Buildings were demolished, and it is believed wio barracks and defence works were damaged. One fort replied ineffectively. Mine-sweeping continues successfully, despite the firing ashore. One minesweeper waa 'hit and two men wounded. Seaplanes have been of invaluable assistance in reconnoitring. It is believed that one destroyed a portion of the defence works with a tomb.
