GERMAN RELIGIONISTS' APPEAL

AND THE BRITISH REPLY

London, September 30. Leading theologians of all the Protestant denominations have issued a reply to the German appeal to Evangelical Christians, especially members of the World's Missionary Conference at Edinburgh, reciting tlie German view of the" political causes of the ivar. The reply ' emphasised tlio salient points of the diplomatic negotiations, and expressed amazement that a document signed by German . theologians, whose honesty and good faith were unimpeachable, should deviate so strangely from plain facts. It could only be supposed that they were unaware of_the story of the negotiations! The reply denied the allegations that Germans abroad had been ill-treated. '
