•Mrs. Edward Naylor, a pioneer resident of Pahiatua, died on Monday evening. The deceased lad}', who had reached the .ago of, 71 years, leaves a husband and a grown-up family of seven. ■ She' had ; resided in Pahiatua since 1885;
, Four .bankruptcies have be'on registered with the Pahiatua Deputy Official Assigneo since January' 1. The list includos tlirce from tho Pahiatua district, and one from Woodyillo. None of , the bankrupts wore business, people of .the Pahiatua borough. The weather, which took a wintry turii on Saturday evening, has again cleared up nnd there ie every prospect of another fine spoil. A number of Pahiatua ladies were busily engaged yesterday in collecting moneys for tho Huntly Fund. Tho Pongaroa Athletic Society decided at a meeting last week , to hold the annual sports gathering on Boxing Day. The society's balance-sheet showed a credit of £'2b.
