ATHLETIC SPORTS.
I CRICKET WELLINGTON COLLEGE OLD BOYS' CLUB. The annual report of tho Wellington College Old Boys' Cricket Club states that the decision of the 'Wellington Cricket Association to allow the club to re-enter tho championship competitions last season, after its compulsory -retirement for some years, was enthusiastically received by all Old Boys, and the committee congratulates members on the success achieved on the field by all teams during tho season. When it is remembered that tho club, at the commencement of the season, had no funds and no material, and, in fact, was practically in the position of a newly-formed club, the record of tho teams in all grades was very satisfactory indeed. A pleasing feature of the season was tho promise, and the. keenness shown by ■ a 'number of.the younger players. Tho attendance at practice was satisfactory i in comparison with that of other clubs, I but there is still room for improvement in this important featuro (says the report). Congratulations arc extended to Messrs. Bcechey, Bkcklock, Grace, D. Hay, and Tucker upon their selection as Wellington representatives, also to Mr. IMakeham, who was selected for tho junior' representative team, Jlessrs. Stace and Jlathewson, who were m the third-class representatives, 'and Air. Lnsk who was chosen for tho Colts Team. Financially matters are not so satisfactory, but the expenditure during last season was necessarily exceptionally heavy.- ■ The material in hand is m good' condition, and tho club will not require a great deal more for the ensu-
