.• , ~' ANNUAL MEETING. , '. ' .* The annual meeting of the Karori Defence Rifle > Club was held at the Navals , Boatshed' last evening, there being a.'.-very, good . .attendance of members. : .... The animal report, which was/adopj;ed, congratulated members on another successful season; The membership was 95, and throughout'the'season the attendance at ; tho range - had been very satisfactory. The best individual. performances for any one match throughout the Boason was made by Rifleman W. Chiniside, 98 points out of.a possible 100, in a ten-shot match at 300 and 600 yards, a record on the Trentham range for tho two distances,; and included a possible at 600 yards end fourteen consecutive tralls'-eyes. The excellent match performances, of Rifleman, _F. .\V. Ching were too irameroue to detail, and the club took, the opportunity of recording its admiration of. Ching's performances. Performances by two other members were- also ' worthy' of special mention, viz., a "centnry" scored by Faulkner, end two consecutive possibles scored by Low (the previous club champion). . ■ The chib welcomed the considera-i tion. shown towards thovrifle club movement hy the Minister of Defence (the Hon. J.' Allen), in respect of monetary grants for tho. encouragement of rifle shooting. o It was announced that Mrs. T. P. Halpin had again donated ; e silver medal and clip- for rifle shooting."' No fewer than ten active members of the club donated trophies at thet meeting. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow. —Patron, Colonel F. E. Johnßton;. honorary vice-presidents, Judge Bawsoh, Captain Hall, Messrs W. H; Field, L. Blundell, W. Bhmdoll, J. F. Mills, C. C. Odlin, A. Collins, Ow;on Daly, W. H. . Tisdall, aud J. Keir; president, H. Marshall (re-elect-ed) ; deputy-president, W. Judd (re elected); secretary,- W. Cowan (reelected); assistant secretary, H. V. 'Croxton (re-elected); treasurer, S. Dix; handicapper, G. Tinney; auditor, R. Randoll; committee, Messrs. Bulford, Chirnside, Fafqubar, and Nicholl.
