EXPLOSIVES AND MODERN WARFARE

Professor T. H. Easterficld, of Victoria College, has promised to deliver a lecture on modern explosives as used in naval and military warfare, on Tuesday next, in the Grand Opera House. Tlio lecture, which will be under Vice-Regal patronage, will be illustrated with practical experiments, the material for which is being partly supplied by the Defence Department and partly made in the collego laboratories. The proceeds are to go to the Patriotic Fund. The box plan opens at the Dresden, to-morrow morning.
