HATAITAI BATHING CLUB

Tho annual meeting of the Hataitai Bathing Club was held last week. ■ The report for tho past year was very satisfactory, and showed the club to be in a flourishing condition. Tho membership comprises 48 life members, two honorary life members, 63 ordinary members, and five junior members. Tho cash balance, after enlarging the shed, and improving the club's property, amounted to £14 2s. Cd. 'The club was making representation to the City Council to improve the foreshore in the vicinity of the shed; this matter is now under consideration. Tho thanks of tho club aro duo to those members who have so ably assistod during'the year, and also to the ladies for their active support in providing refreshments at various times. Tho following officers were elected; — I'atrou, Dr. Newman, M.P.; president, Mr. J. A. Tresize'; vice-presidents, Messrs. R. M. Isaacs, C. Beasley, G. Halliday, N. Grant, H. D. Edwards, C. .t'enney, F. Firkett, A. D. Bayfiold, J. Jacob, J. Bell, and W. Boyd; treasurer, Mr. J. C. Burbery; committee. Messrs. Q. Forbes, A. Sinclair, 11. Bolland, 11. Linney, A. Buckmasfor, and F. C. Uenouf; auditor, Mr. J. L. Arcus. The office of secretary was left open, and will be filled at the ■ meeting of tho committee. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring officers.
