' ——* ■ •• . A meeting of the Greytown branch of the Wairarapa Egg Circle was held on Thursday afternoon, Mr. Murray presiding. , Mr. H. M.' Boddington, the general secretary, and . Mr. Jarrett, both of Masterton, addressed the meeting, and questions of interest to mombere were discussed. Mr. Boddington referred to the export of eggs, but remarked that owing to the war proposals had been somewhat altered, and only thoso eggs consigned for oxport would be sent away. The question of feed supply was touched upon, and it was pointed out that the present higii price of feed would force a number of producers out of the market, thus making it better for the "stayers." It wae expected that 15,000 dozen eggs would be sent away next month to test the markets abroad. Unless this matter was pushed egge would be a 'drug in the local market. Ho hoped the crate shortage would rectify itself very soon. The shortage of them was felt in other centres at times owing to merchants in Wellington, and sometimes the train, not benig prompt in return delivery. Another "hard-up" euchre party in aid of St. Luke's Church funds ' was held on Thursday night in the schoolroom, when a large number were preBent. Tho first lady's prize was won by a lady from Matarawa, and Mr. Gollin won the first men's prize. The second prizes were won by Mrs. M'Lean and Mr. M. Maxton, and the consolation •prizes by Mrs. Williams and Mr. G.
