BERLIN ENTHUSIASTIC OVER ITS DESTRUCTION - Copenhagen, September 24. Reports of the destruction of Reims Cathedral were received in Berlin with intense enthusiasm. Paris, September 24. The facade of Reims Cathedral, with three doors, two towers, and the'rose window, were intact when the bombardment of the town, was renewed. — ("Times." and Sydney "Sun" Services.) September 25, 8 p.m.) Amsterdam, September 24. i An offioial Berlin statement admits that the Germans used one mortar shot .against Reims Cathedral because the field artillery was ineffective to dislodge the observation post. A PAPAL PROTEST. (Rec. September 25, 8 p.m.) London, September 24. Rome newspapers state that the Pope Bas telegraphed to the Kaiser deploring the , damage to Reims Cathedral, eaying: "When you destroy the temples of God, you provoke the Divine ire, before which even, potent annies< lose all power." .
