GREAT GERMAN TRANSPORT FLEET AN AMERICAN'S STORY (Rec. September 26, 8.15 p.m.) London, September 24. A prominent American who lived for many years in Berlin, on being interviewed in London, said tho Germans were working night and day at Kiel and TVilnelnishaven altering merchantmen into . transports. They were also working in manufacturing Zeppelins. Thoy expect to squash England to pieces. It is believed in Berlin that the war will endure for several years, but the population knowe little of its progress. . The British are hated with an intensity hard to describe. It ; was never supposed that England would be a factor in. the fight.
