The' fourth annual report of the_Lyall/ Bay Surf and Life-Saving' Club states 'that during the , season an appreciable) increase in the number of active members has been noticed. It was to be regretted that the club's finances were not'in , a very strong position, owing to the"extremely-heavy non-recurring expenditure, but the outgoing committee expected that the club's financial, position 'would beovery much• improved at the erid'of.the coming season. The chib s assets, as .per balance-sheet,'it would be , noticed, :ivere in a higbly satisfactory condition. 1 The members "of the club ■•were not Macking in' patriotism, twelve or. rnbfaimembers sailing, with the first Expeditionary Force. In conclusion, the report 'thanked Sir Robert Stout, Messrs; -A. Levy, and W. H. D. Bell, M.1 , .,'f0r-the practical interest they iiad shown in tho work of the club. The balance-sheet shows an excess or assets over liabilities of .-636 9s. lid.
