HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Miss Rosa Loader as "The Happy Slavoy at the Piano" scored another success at His Majesty' 6 Theatre last night where the current vaudeville procramme is well. worth hearing. Miss Maud Fanning, coon- impersonator, who is reappearing after a long absence, was again received with enthusiasm as wero the Elliott Sisters in. their song and dance turn, and Arthur EllfeU comedian. Other popular performers this week include the Dumetrisque Trio, Carmen and Lawrence, the Quealeys, the Mullaney Twins, Gio Angelo, Sam La Mert, and Miss Rjiy "Devere. The programme will be repeated during the week. THE KING'S THEATRE. It has been said that Sir Walter Scott's comprehensive power, which drew with the same certainty k> many characters in 60 many various classes, waa-the direct result of his profound sympathy with the simpler feelings of -the human heart. It contains first authentic picture news of tho great war, Germany's answer to Russia, Britain mobilising her army, seething patriotic scenes, French resorvists loaving Folkestone, etc. -At the various sessions yesterday the film was greeted with enthusiastic applause by large crowds of patrons. There are sovoraf other good pictures to support' "Europe in Peace and War." . . THE EMPRESS THEATRE. Tho final presentation, will ta-ko place to-day and to-night at the- Empress Theatre continuous pictures of the Gloria Company's "feature" society drama, "A Stolen Inheritance." The subject deals with the career of a beautiful but crafty adventuress; Helen Rombert, who steals a letter which enables her to impersonate another young woman, and thus gain admission to the family as . a wealthy New Yorker. The story ha-s a thrill from end to end! , ..Tlieiv are. a number of other entertaining films.' A complete, change will, be.introduced to-morrow. .MACMAHON'S NEW THEATRE. The attendances at MacMahon's New Theatre yesterday were heavy all. ■ through.. For to-night Mr. MacMahon announces "In the Hands of London Crooks," an exclusive film described as; a big production in five parts, and a "stirring, gripping, wholesome melodrania, with life action and moral truth ip every phase." It tells a romance, not a story, of actual''life; but, there are said to be no sordid.details and nothing offensive. Some remarkable scenes nro shown, including a race scene at Royal Ascot (presented in all its detail, not forgetting the King's coach and other memorable sights of interest);-a battle on the Afghan frontier; the drugging of a jockey' before a race; and a sensational raid on a fashionable gambling den in the West End of London. The picture will , be shown* sessions this week, and on Monday "The Lights of London," Mr. G. R. Sims's famous drama, will bo shown for the first time. ; "THE CREATION.", Considerable interest is, being manifested locally in the screening of the great religious picture "The Creation," now being shown afternoon and evening in the Town Hali by .the International Biblo Students' Association. .The dual attraction of a totally unusual picture and a free entertainment is securing very large attendances to witness the production. Incidental to the picture a fine phonograph renders excellent music, and delivers lectures at intervals. The first section of the great picture—the entire length ie two 'miles —details' the development and creation of the earth up to s<: me distance paet the Deluge. This section will be shown for the last time to-day and to-night. The second section is to be shown for. the next three-days, and so on until the' whole four sections have been shown. The screening of "The Creation" is a religious meeting, lecture, picture show, and entertainment all m one. Those desirous of following the great picture throughout its ■• entire length should on no account miss the final ppurtrayal of the first part to-day. LE PALAIS DE DANSE. The latest form' of amusement has taken on very quickly in the public dancing hall where all the,latest dances are now catered for. The old Vivian Street Skating Rink has been'so transformed as to be- hardly recognisable. No expense has been spared in, the corations, fittings, and floor," so that patrons are assured of an enjoyable evening. A good orchestra plays the latest music, and during the- evening exhibitions of the tango, the one-stop, and the hesitation waltz are given by Sydney experts. '
