WESTPORT HARBOUR BOARD
APPOINTMENT OF ENGINEER. (By MegTaph—Press Association.) Wffitport, Sept-ember 21. Out of 26 applicants for the position of engineer, at. a "salary of £1000 per ■annum, the Westport Harbour Board appointed Mr. C. N. -Bpult, of Mackay, Queensland. The Harbour Board ■ has decided, in new of the interest at-: taching to th© port of Wostport during the present war, to ask the Government to bring under the notice of the Admiralty the known coal-bearing areas at Blackburn and Cape Foulwmd, close to Westport, so that an area may be reserved for from 20,000 to 50,000 tons of coal tobe stored on'the Admiralty list, the Admiralty paying a subvention to-, the board.
