The Northern Steamship Company's Rarawa, which has been undergoing her annual overhaul and survey at Auckland for the past 12 days, is duo at early this morning. She will re-enter tho Onehunga-New Plymouth service, coiling from tho former port at 3 p.m. to-day. MESS TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. J. A. Moyee has signed on the John as chief engineer, in place of Sir. P. Overhaul to tho coastal steamer Huia has been completed. The vessel will be dispatched for Tfaveloc.k, Kenepuru, and Pelorus Sounds on Wednesday nezt. The work of overhauling the Defender at Lyttelton ha.s taken longer than was anticipated. Consequently the vessel-will not load at Wellington for the 'West Coast till about the middle of this week. A projected departure from Sydney for tho four New Zealand main ports on Saturday was the Union Company's big cargo carrier Waltemata. She lias eeveral thousand tous of transhipmenta on board taken, from oversea steamers at Sydney.' Tho vwel'a chief lines are ex the Rangatira, from Liverpool. It is expected that tliQ Waitemaia will make Auckland about Thursday next. The Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa left Svdney for Wellintgon direct at 10.30' p.m. on Friday. Sho should show up hero about noon to-morrow. On account of the large cargo which has to bo handled on board the Shaw, SaviU steamer Pakeha at Auckland, the vessel's London freight is not expected to arrive at Wellington till about October 3. Friday. September 25, is the date on winch tho New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Kia Ora is scheduled to leave Montreal for Australian and Now Zealand ports. She,ls due at Welington about December 21. ' It will be about the end of this month before the Star of Australia will arrive at Wellington to complete Homeward loading. After having been bar-bound at Hokitika for fifteen days, the steamer Kairakl managed to clear the West Coast port for Lyttelton last Wednesday evening. ■ She Is due here to-morrow to load for Greymouth. The Government steamer Hinomoa will leave Wellington on Thursday morning for the purpose of paying a visit of inspection to all Cook Strait lights as well as Kaauranyi Point and Karori Rock. Information from Australian files regarding lint movements of the -oil steamer Physo appears to hove been somewhat- belated, as the "Otago Daily Times" has been informed by her local agents, "that the Phvsa will arrive in New Zealand at too end of tills week, and is due at Dunedia about October 12." The Physa. is bringing a cargo of caso oil for the British Imperial Oil Company. Included in her proscui cargo ie a large consignment of printing paper, transhipped from the steamer Anglo-Egyptian at Sydney. Tho Surrey is due at Auckland, from Liverpool, via way ports,' .on, Wednesday next. Departure will be taken for. Wellington on September 26, and arrival made here on Monday, September "8.
