HUNTLY DISASTER
TWO MEN STILL MISSING. (By. Tolecrapli—Press Association.! Auckland, September 20. Tho work of rescuo and exploration is steadily" proceeding at Ralph's Mine, Huntly, by men from Waihi and Hikurangi' equipped ' with latest Draegar life-saving apparatus. Two bodies are still missing—those of William Smith, a deputy, and. another miner. Two or three bodies were recovered last week in an unrecognisable' condition and were buried, and while it is certain that Smith has not been recovered the other man may be any one of the three or four missing men. The mine is reported to be absolutely, safe now, and work will probably be resumed as soon as the ventilation system is fully restored. Mr. S. Riske, 95 Cuba Street, advises that ho collected a sum of £4 9s. 2d, in his window on Saturday on behalf oftlio distress fund. The joint-secretaries of the Huntly Disaster Relief Fund, Messrs. J. Read and L. M. A. Rearden, are in receipt of £12 13s. 10d;, collected at tho Athletic Park on Saturday afternoon by the permission of tho Wellington Rugby, Union. '
