MASTERTON NOTES.
A nine-year-old dnugbter of Mr. E. J. Carman, of "Willowbnnk," met with a painful accident on Friday afternoon. She was proceeding on horseback to bring in some cows, when she was thrown heavily, sustaining a fracture of the thigh. ■ She is now iu a private hospital in Mastertou. The annual smoke concert in connection with the Miniature Rifle Club was held on Friday night. Thoro was a large attendance, including visitors from Carterton. The chair was occupied by Mr. 0. N. C. Pragnell. A number o'f toasts were honoured, and musical items wore rendered. « The Bishop of Wellington (Dr. Sprott) conducts services in St. Matthew's Church on St. Matthew's Day.
