WILD STORIES CIRCULATED
SPANISH SAILORS BELIEVE LONDON TAKEN. (Reo. September 19, 0.5 a.m.) London, September 17, evening. The captain of a Spnnisb steamer has arrived in London after great difficulty with his crew, who were disinclined to work the ship as they believed the German newe circulated in Spain stating that the Germans had captured London, half of which was in flames.
MR. BURNS'S ALLEGED SPEECH. (Rec. September 19, 0.5 a.m.) London, September 17, evening. The correspondent of the German Befolina Press Bureau, which circulated a false report of a speech by Mr. John Burns, in which he was represented as against the war, reasserts ilie truth of it, and says Mr. Burns made it at ono of many public meetings. The same authority adds that the Lord Mayor of London opposes the war.
