CONCILIATION COUNCIL
A sitting of tho Conciliation Council was hold last night to. deal with the application of the Wellington Slaughtermen's Union for a new award prescribing working conditions at the Municipal abattoir. Mr. P. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, presided, and after a con-' feronco lasting 'about an hour the proceedings were ■adjourned for six months as the parties were unable to come to a settlement. This decision was com-j to, on account of the unsettled etate of things resulting from the war.
