Wilhelm Ganz was Professor of Singing at the Guildhall School of Music. ■Ho was a Chevalier of tlio Saxe-C'obnrg family house Order; created a Knight .of the 'Royal Order of Wasa by the King, of. Sweden and Norway, 1901; Chevalier of the Prussian Order of tho Red Eagle, 1903; Chevalier Francis Joseph Order of Austria, 1905. Ho was horn at Mayenco in 1533, and educat-ed at Mayence and London. Ho arrived iu England in 184S, and became a member, of the orchestra at Her Majesty's Theatre under Mr. Balfe, playing violin. Ho gave concerts as a pianist from 1855 until the present time. He was the conductor of the New Philharmonic and Ganz's Orchestral Concerts, 1874-82, and gave his diamond jubilee concert, May 26, 1908.
