MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL

A meeting of the Miramar Borough Council was held last night. There were prescnt:~The Mayor (Mr. F. Townsend), and Councillors Dr. E. Huntley, S. M. Stone, H. A. Smith, S. H. Underwood, M. Tracey,.and H. Hawthorn. A letter was received from tho British Australian Oil Company enclosing a communication from the Department of Trade and Customs, Melbourne, to the effect that Collectors of Customs had now been instructed that, provided they were satisfied as to the bona fides of the transaction, permits might be granted for tho export to New Zealand of lubricating and fuel oils, for average renniroments. The Mayor stated that the Tramways Department had.given instructions that a report should be made in all cases of disorderly conduct by Territorials , , on the trams. The matter was further discussed in committee.
