BOATING FATALITY
__:— -4— _ THREE MEN DROWNED IN LAKE ' MAHINAPUA. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Hokitiha, Soptember 10. Later particulars of tho drowning accident on Lake Mahinapua show that last evening, about 5 o'clock, while a party of seven men were returning from Lako Mahinapua to their homes at Mananui Sawmill in a well-laden rowing boat and about a quarter-inilo from the mill in Mahinapua Creek, tho men in changing rowers over-balanced tho boat, and all were thrown into tho water. Four men reached tho bank safely, but Alexander Waugh, C4eorge Rogers; and Chas. Herring wore drowned. Three of those saved got to an island, and tho other man went for assistance, l'ho police left Hokitika for the scene, and with a largo lmnibcr of residents are engaged in searching for tho bodies. Tho three drowned men wero single, between 25 and 30 years of ago. Tho body of Rogers has been recovered. Later. Tho bodies of the other two victims of the drowning fatality hav.e been jecovercoa
