A meeting of tho Patriotic Association raised 175,000 dollars (£35,000), including the City Corporation's 60,000 dollars (£10,000). Several wealthy residents have contributed 300,000 dollars (£60,000) to equip a battery of ton machine guns mounted on-motor-trucks. DUKE REVIEWS TROOPS. Ottawa, September 9. •The Duke of Connaught reviewed 2500 Canadians for the Expeditionary Forces, at Montreal. Their training is practically completed. ■
