ROTORUA MAORI CHOIR.
Mr. D. Smythe Papworth has kindly offered to give two entertainments at the Town Hall on Wednesday and Thursday evenings next by- the membors pf the famous Rotorua- Maori Choir, in aid of the Patriotic Fund. The items include liakas of war and welcome, and hakas of 'posture, dances and physical drill, the test submitted by tho old chiefs to their followers to ascertain their fitness before going on the warpath. Another interesting item is the matematc, all ancient Maori gamo brought into existence to teach tho young people quickness of hand and oye, so that they might anticipate tho action ,of an .opponent. _ 'lhe poi dancers include • the champions in New Zealand. 'The part singing by the choir is said to be particularly good. Tho programme wil lalso include numerous tableaux descriptivo of Maori legonds. Admission will do Is. to all parts of the hall.
