YOUNG MAN'S SUICIDE.
\ (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, September 3,. A young man named John Bruce Downes, a-receut arrival from Australia, Committed suicide on the* verandah of a house at Green Lane. Downes had visited a young lady, spoko to her at the gate, awl after, she left him- ho walked to the verandah, produced . a tovolvor, and shot himself in the heart.

A married man named Robert James •Kelts 'was admitted to the Hospital yesterday suffering from a compound fracture of'the right leg and from nasty cuts about the head. The accident was fenstamed through Kells being thrown out of llis express when the' horse bolted. ' The. injured mail resides.; ut K.ilbirnie, and is' 02 years of ago.
