LOWER HUTT COURT.
i¥r. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., presided over the monthly sitting of the Lower Hutt Court yesterday, Messrs. J. Cud;by and J. Wilkin being also on the Bench. Hamuira Te Punga, a Maori missioner, asked that bis unole, Moki Kurena; should be bound over to keep the peace. It appeared that Kurena had used threatening behaviour toward Te Punga for'alleged trespassing. Defendant admitted that he had started the argument, and had used bad and threatening language. Te Pu'nga's story being substantiated, His Worship decided to bind, Kurena over' to keep the peace for twelve months. Sureties were .fixed at £10 in Self, and two others of £5 each. Judgment was given for plaintiff by default in the following undefended civil cases: —Clendori Bros. v. H. Trevethick, £2 19s. 3d., costs 10s.; Frederick Jenness v. Eobert Stevens, junr., 7s. J3d., costs 55.: Thomas Burt, executor of George M'lrvride, v. George Alexander M'llvride, £96 13s. lid., costs £4 18s. •
