CLAIM FOR £1000 DAMAGES
(By Tekgraph-Piees Association.) Wanganuf, September 1. A case possessing some extraordinary features has occupied the attention of tho Supreme Court for>. the last two days. Mrs. Francis Mulliner, a marriod woman, of Wellington, sued 1 Joseph [vess for £1.000 damages for alleged indecent assault. Ivess, who was a wellknown public man and journalist, . is tihe owner oE fhe King's C&urt Accommodation House at Ohakurie. Mrs. i Mulliner came to the Tiotel with the object of becoming manageress. While . in 'the house , sne, alleged that Ivess ' driigged her, and committed the alleged offence. The defence alleged consent, and denied the allegations of ■• drugging and violence. The jury is still away (midnight) after three hours' retire- . ment. ■
