By Telegraph—Preos (Rec. August 31, 10.5 p.m.) , Sydney, August 31. , Samuel Freeman, who was arrested iii connection with theEveleigh' holdup, and abso with shooting at a watchman, has been sentenced to death for the latter crime.

Early on the morning of 'June 9, the watchman at the Oxford Street Post Office heard someone inside the building. He fastened the door and went to obtain assistance. Ho had only proceeded a few yards when a man who had"evidently bean watching his movements fired, a revolver, the •bullet' passing through the watchman's . cheek, and striking'a'second man who was standing on the footpath, knocking out threo of his teeth. The watchman fired threo shots at his. assailant, who succeeded in escaping.
