EDUCATION BOARD
.MONTHLY MEETING. The Wellington Education Board met yesterday. The Hon. J. G. W. Ait-ken presided, and tliero were present, also, Sir Walter Buchanan, Messrs.' T. Moss, W. Allan, C. M. Luke, H. Freeman, A. W. Hogg, and J. Kebbcll. . The request of the Burnside residents for a school to be established in their district was acceded to. : An application from' Worser Bay for a side -sehool was referred to the chiefinspector to report upon. The following grants Ivore authorised: —Paraparaumu, residence, boundary fence; South Wellington, cookery and woodwork '.department, roof painting; Dalefiold, residence, concrete paths; Hukanui, fencing, additional grant; Martinborough, residence, repairs, and fencing; Kilbirnie, asplialtiug;Te Aro, improvement pla) ground extension; and South Featherston, cement work, cost of material. In regard to tho question of school accommodation at Wadestown, it was resolved: "That 'the Department be asked to provide the cost of the new school, the board to refund the money realised by sale of-present school build,ings.*'"'- _ ■;;-■•_ ;-'•;; .-: The following tenders-wore accepted: —Manakau, removal of outbuilding, G.
