GENERAL FARMING NEWS.
On account of so many shearers having joined, the Expeditionary Forco. it is anticipated that there will be a short-age.-of shearers in tlio Master-ton district this season. The Parkvalo Dairy Company has paid its supporters 133 d. per pound of butter-fat supplied last season. Tho •company manufactured 279 tons of cheese during tlio season. Tii,o Taiatahi Dairy "Company manufactured 165 tons of cheese last season, a decrease of four tons on the previous season. Tho amount paid to suppliers for butter fat was at the rate of 13Jd. . per pound. . ■' Four more of the dairy factories in the Carterton district re-opened for the season on Monday morning, their sup-plies-being in excess of tho total for the opening day last year.
