BULL-DOG & MOTOR CYCLE
A DISAGREEMENT. The allurement of a pair of leggings encasing the calves of. a motor cyclist out Miramar way yesterday proved too much for a. rambling bull-dog. As the motor whizzed by there .was a challenging bark and the dog bounded after tho motorist. Tho cycle \yas not going - very fast, and the rider; who by the way had a young boy passenger, naturally slackened [ down wlipn he felt tho teeth, , of .the dog in his leggings. Then' the cyclist kicked. The bull-dog, annoyed, fastened his teeth further up in tho knee above tho leggings. The cyclist under such persuasion all but stopped! ' Then the diminutive passenger, at tho bidding of his elder, jumped off and ran on to the footpath. With all this manoeuvring the, motor overturned and lay on the road, the wheels still whizzing round. The bull-dog apparently forgot all about the leggings, the.knee or the'owner of the both, and stood watching the strange-looking object whirring oil tho roadway. The canine pranced round in imminent danger of having his legs wrenched off in tho revolving wheel—as no doubt tho watching owner of tho machine evidently hoped ho would. _ Then .the animal chanced to place his paws on the hot cylinder. There was a yelp of pain and tho dog careered away at top speed, leaving a motor cvclist who was fluently voicing his opinions about the danger of such-unchained animals to the wheeled fraternity.
