CARTERTON NOTES
At tho residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Masson, on Friday evening, tho Carterton Methodist Choir assembled for tho purpose of making a presentation to Miss Nellie Masson and Mr. Gordon Tunnicliffe, of a handsome, entreo dish in honour of their approaching marriage. In> making the presonta-' tion fho conductor, Mr. E. Crawley, made pleasant reference to Miss Masson and Mr. Tunnicliffo as members of the choir, and The gift and kindly remarks were suitably acknowledged by Mr. Tunnicliffe. ';
The death occurred rather suddenly on Friday night of Mrs. Telford, a, well-known and highly-esteemed resident of Cartcrton. Deceased -was taken til in the afternoon, and towards evening she revived, but despite the best medical skill, -expired at about ■12 o'clock. Mr. Telford predeceased her many years ago. Deceased leaves a family of eight.
