Tho Manawatu representative footballers defeated Wairarapa by 12 to 4. The game was not notable for any brilliancy. The winners had a number of emergencies playing, and' • tho Wairjvrapa play was listless. For Manawatu, Dustin kicked a penalty, Johnston scored two tries, and M'Dowell one. Nasson dropped ft goal from the field for Wairarapa. ' ; INTER-COLLEGE TOTJRN'EY. Ghristchuroh, August 19. The second match in the annual college tournament was played to-day at Christ's 'College Ground, Wanganui meeting Wellington. The match resulted- ; .Wanganui, 8 (two trios scored 1 by Beattie and one converted by Caldwell); Wellington, 3 (a try by Bryan). RUGBY FOOTBALL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, August 19. The conference between the New South Wales. Queensland, and New Zealand Rugby Unions agreed on a programme covering a period comprising tours of Australian teams in New Zealand in 1915 and 1917, and of New Zealand teams in Australia in 1916 and 1918. Eaoh tour will consist of seven matches, two being tests. The net proceeds are to be divided as follow:— 40 por centum to tho home union and 30 per : centum, to the other unions. Other points dealt with were the appointment of referees, ordered off and injured players, , and • interchange . of rulings. A clause was added to the . agreoment that an injured player may be replaced at any period of the gamo with the consent of the opposing captain. Tho New South. Wales Union has already adopted tho agreement.

SEASON DRAWING TO A CLOSE. A special meeting of the Wellington. Football Association was held last evening fertile purpose of electing a member .to a yacant position on Che Management Committee, presentation of caps to members of the Brown Shield, team who defeated Canterbury on September 14, 1912, and also to confirm certain alterations ;to the rules. Mr. A. E. Wells presided. ' There were two nominations for the vacant position on the Management Committee, and the ballot' resulted in! favour of Mr. P. Pye-Smith.'' ■ The - caps, which were presented by Messrs. M. Bennett, senr., and B. L. Salmon, were received by the following players :—Cockburn, E. Cross, H. Par 1 sous, M. Kirschburg, P. S. Roots, B. Itickerby, M; Barnett, W. Gibson, W. Hughes, W. Phillips, H. Roberts, and W. Brownlee. . It was decided that from the commencement of the 1915 season the ago limit of Third Division players be abolished. On the motion of Mr. A.'Williams it was decided that': "No player ordered off the field of play for misconduct shall be-suspended from playing football till his case has, been dealt with by the Management Committee of the association." ( Rulo 9, page 13, was altered to read as follows.: —"Before granting . any transfer the committee shall fully consider all the circumstances in connection therewith, and shall have power to refuse a transfer if, in its opinion, the granting of such transfer shall not be-in the best interests of the game." The following by-law was added: — "All correspondence from clubs or players to the W.F.A. on matters which I affect the Now Zealand Football Association shall be rendered in duplicate." It- was decided to record in the minutes and 'annual report of the association the names of players and members of the W.F.A. who have volunteered for active service. •' j MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETi ING. I Subsequently a meeting of the Management Committee was held. Permission was granted for a Wellington schools -representative team to visit Blenheim on September 0. Tho request for financial assistance was iefused. Tho Wanderers Club wrote, asking, permission to withdraw their First Division team from the championship. The reason given was that several of the players had joined the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. —It was,decided to 'inform the Wanderers Club that seeing that they havo several junior players, these men should be given the opportunity of filling; the gaps in tho senior team. 1 On the recommendation of the* Fixtures Committee it was decided: (1) That the semi-finals: for the Charity Cup be played to a finish on Saturday,. August 22. (2) That the final , for the cup be played on the Basin: Reserve on September 5. (3) That Corinthians meet Hospital in the final for the First Division championship at Porirua. on August 29. (4) That Kaiwarra be declared winners' of the Second. Division championship. (5) That Y!M.C.A. A be declared winners of the Third Division championship. As a result of the match Hospital v. . WEDNESDAY COMPETITIONS. The competitions. under the auspices of the Wednesday Hockey Association have advanced to the third round .which was commenced yesterday. All matches were played at Karori Park. Players mustered strongly, and the grounds being in good order, some good games resulted. ' PETONE V. RAMBLER' A. This was a fast open game and Petone were hard pressed to keep in the' lead. For the winners Cavill scored 3 goals and Taplin 1. For the losers Heaphy and Middleton scored-one goal • each. The final result was: Petone, 4; Rambler A, 2. „ , • PAKEHA V. RAMBLER B. Ramblers are to be commended for their excellent showing. The game was fast and open and clean. For the win ners Turner and Gracie (2), and Slieeran were the scorers, and for the losers Heyhoe notched the only goal. ''-The final- scorb was: Pakeha, 6; Rambler B, 1. HEREAWA V. HUI MAI. '> Hui Mai took the field with six men and suffered defeat.. For the winners Caterer and Pullyn played excellent hockey, and for the losers all worked hard. The final tally was: Hcreawa, 9; Hui Mai, 3. Messrs. Cooper, Burn, and Johnston controlled tho games satisfactorily. BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS -. ) POSTPONED TILL NEXT SEASON. Congden, who played A. R.: Storing. The games will be continued in the same rooms till completed.
