Mr. Donald Fraser, of Rangitikei, promised tho company ten or sixteen bullocks;- to be turned into meat or money, as ilio directors thought fit, for war fund purposes. Mr. J. Boucher, of 74 Lambton Quay, Wellington] has donated to the Expeditionary Force Fund one tandem bicycle and the.prize of £4 4s. which lie wen at tho last Easter motor, race meeting at Napier. Mr. Bouclier is a-nativo of Switzerland, and lias been a naturalised British subject for tlie last ten years. , , The Croatians in the Dargaville district have sent in a contribution of £500. , Tho' rate at which contributions are pouring into the Defence Fund was described by tho Prime Minister yesterday as "simply magnificent." At. a meeting of old volunteers " on .Monday evening, Mr. M'Ewan, late colour-sergeant of the Bluff Guards, stated that he would give to the War Fund the entire takings of his billiard saloon on the second Thursday of each month.
