On her last run across from Auckland to Sydney the Union Company's Jlahcno oomplishcd the journey in the. creditablo time of three days thirteen hours. Arrangements havo been made for the Mangapapa to arrive at Wellington from Karamea, via, Westport, on Friday of this week. She will return to the West Coast ports. Day and night shifts arc working at the Kanri, which is now in "dock undergoing repairs at Port Chalmers. The damago sustained by the Kauri through stranding at Westport is more extensive than was at first anticipated, with the result that a very large area, of her hull and Boor plates flvave haq to be removod from the bridge forward to the forepeak on the port side of the Teesel. According to a wireless message -which has been received from the captain of the Nairnshire, he expects his vessel to arrive at Wellington at 6 p.m. to-morrow,-Messrs. Dalgety and Co. advise that the coastal steamer Opouri will arrive at Wellington to-morrow from Lyttelton. She will leave on the back trip on Thursday. ; The Warrimoo is due in -port early to-' morrow morning. She has 100 saloon, and 84 steerage paesongers on board for Wellington. Her caTgo consists of 1300 tons. At 9.33 a.m. yesterday a message was dispatched from Greymouth to the effect that the Arahura had been detained out--«ido the bar at that port on account of heavy weather. Before the Tarawera leaves Wellington for the South this afternoon she will land 840 tons of northern cargo at this port. Survey of- the Maitai at Lyttelton was completed' last evening, and the vessel left for Wellington. She will be dispatched from hero in the Willochra's run on Thursday, August 20.
