——.— i MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The Management Committee of the Wellington Hockey Association mot last night, Mr. C. N. Cathie presided. A letter was received _ from the New Zealand Hockey Association in reference to the proposed British tour, and stating that a lengthy letter had been written-, to the English Association requesting information as to the prospects of a. team being sent to New Zealand. This letter had probably arrived in London a couple of weeks since. The committee had l)iow decided to 6ond a reply-paid cablegram .asking for information.—Received. There was a discussion as to whether, in view of the present crisis, it would be advisable to continue the various grade fixtures. It was eventually decided to continue the Senior and Junior competitions, but. to abandon the third-class competition.- The third-class • playera available are asked to assemble at Karori as usual in order to fill up gaps in'other grade teams. Mr. W. G. Morpeth, treasurer to the association, wrote forwarding his resignation to tho club, on account of his joining the Expeditionary IVirce. It was decided to place on record Mr. Morpeth'9 services to the club. ; Mr.. R. Thompson was appointed to tho vacancy. > Messrs. Bobbie and Richards also forwarded their resignations for. similar reasons. An election was held to fill the vthree vacancies, and Messrs., Schloadt, 'Atkinson, and Hunter were appointed to fill these positions. It was decided to .write to the Marlborough Association intimating that in view of the large number of senior.players who have joined the Expeditionary Forces, the association did' not think it would be possible to send a B team to Marlborough, while the A team was touring tho north. i A recommendation . was made to the Selection Committee to arrange, if possible,, for the Shield team to play a match against Waikato on the way up to Auckland.
