PARLIAMENT.

AN ADJOURNMENT PROBABLE. There is a little Uncertainty as to what Parliament will do during the next few days, but it is unlikely that much will be attempted apart from emergency measures arising out of the present state of tho war. To-day a Bill is to be brought down dealing with national finance in the exceptional conditions which now obtain. When this and some other matters have been disposed of, Parliament will' probably be asked to adjourn for. a few days. Ministers are so fully occupied with affairs relating to.the war that anything liko ordinary business in .the House is practically out of the question. These special duties are not likely to bo lightened in the 'immediate future, and it is therefore unlikely that it will be found possible to resumo the conduct of ordinary business in Parliament for soma weeks to come. A definite statement on the subject may be expected from the' Prime Minister shortly! Meantimo the probabilities are that Parliament will ho asked to adjonrn from time to time for brief intervals, but with an understandin? that members .shall be always at hand in case it should be necessary to call them together in anv sudden emergency. Both Houses, will meet as usual to-day. The date upon which thVßniU 1 ways Statement will be presented Is uncertain. ■
