CITY VALUES
RISE OF £70 PER FOOT.
As the Valuation . Department's I notices circulate/ it becomes evident that 'the rise iU. the value of mid-city land is in many ca6es fairly substantial. Lambton Quay_ property, .particularlv that that lies between Woodward Street and Willis Street, has evidently been set down at too low a value for some years past, and in making' the new assessments the prices realised at recent sale3_ have evidently been taken into consideration, as the values have i been raised as much as £60 per foot in some cases. That, however, does not represent the maximum nse, for in Willis Street several properties' have been raised in vahio to the extent of £70 and efreu £75 per foot on 1 the valuations made eight years ego. Property on the slopes of Mount, 'Victoria—-the, sunny side of the city—and' in Oriental . Bay has been advanced, whilst Thoriidon property arid that in the vicinity of Tmakori Road has'remained fairly'stationary. • ''
