LADIES' HANDICAP TOURNEY. Messrs. Alcock and Co., Ltd., are launching 011 a new venture oil Monday next by .holding in their showrooms a billiard tournament for ladies. 'pis will'be the first time in Now Zealand, aild probably the world, where ladies have publicly performed on a billiard table for trophies. The draw for the first round took-place before a committee yesterday afternoon in the office St' Alcock and Co., with the following results : —Miss. Grabliam v. Mrs. Porter, Mrs. Nagle and Mrs. Goldie, Miss Cunlift'e, v. Mrs. Player, Mrs. Tucker v. Mrs. Comity, Mrs. Watkins v.. Miss Milford, Mrs. Kilmister v. Miss Taylor, Miss L. Staco.v. Mrs. Lockwood, Miss 0. Staco, a bye. V The games are to be played on 9ft. billiard dining-tables, erected in the showrooms of Messrs. Alcock and Co., Ltd. Admission is strictly by, invitation, but tickets' may bo obtained by porsonal application to Alcock and Co. No gentleman will be admitted unless accompanied by a lady. The first prize is being given by Alcock and Co., and the second by Mr. Charles Haines.
