POLAND (Ohinemuri) gave notice to aßk the Government /to amend thb State Guaranteed Advances Act in order to enable advances to be made to dairy farmers for the purchase of milch cows. Mr. It. M'CALLUM (Wairau) gave notice of tho Wairau Harbour Board Foreshore Grant Bill. , Mr. J. PAYNE (Grey Lynn) gave notice of the Electoral Reform Compulsory Voting Bill and the Unregistered Nurses Registration Bill. ..Mr. A. HARRIS (Waitemata) gave notice of the Takapuna Borough Poreshore Vesting Bill. Mr. A. H. ATMORE (Nelson) gave notice to ask the Minister'-of Customs whether he would take steps to have fruit-canning machinery admitted to New Zealand free of duty. Fourteen days' leave of absence was gran ted. to Mr. E. Newman.

Bill (Mr. M'Combs), the Roman Catholio Bishop of Auckland Empowering Bill (Mr. Bradney), the Dunedin City (Waipori Falls) Lands Yosting Bill (Mr. Statham), and the National Provident' Fund Act Amendment Bill (Mr. Ell) were introduced and read a first time. ,
