The Dutch Ministry is likely to_be severely criticised for granting.the Vulkan Company, a German firm rivalling Krupps, permission to construct a private harbour for fcean-going vessels at Rotterdam. The London, "Standard's" Hague .correspondent recently stated on the highest authority that the' Dutch Government had yielded to Germany's demands to relinquish a small strip of' foreshore to enable the Dutch Vulkan Company, controlled by the.Thyaseus Coal Iron Company, of the whine, to establish a private harbour and works beside the new waterway-between the North Sea andEotterdam. This demand was ;m'ade in May of last year, and was regarded a,t the time.as being fraught with sinister possibilities. . ' '.' ■
