TWEED HEADS DISASTER
TWO MORE BODIES RECOVERED. 3y Tolerrpnh—P-oss Awrintioi— Copyricht ' (Rec. July 22, 8.35 p,m.) Sydney, July 23. The bodies of A. Arnold asd'.G. Piggott, who were drowned, in the Tweed Heads disaster, have been found. Both bodies were naked and much • decomposed, and were not touohed by sharks.' On tho night of July 10, a. fishing party of thirteen was-returning, from Tweed Heads when their launch capsized .threequarters of a mile from 1 land. Six managed to reach the shore in an exhausted condition. Tho body of a seventh, A. Buchanan, drifted ashore, and six wero missing—namely, A. Arnold, C. Gibson, G. Piggott, Ereency, J. Barrett and Badham. - ;■.:■".'' - When the boat overturned the big waves running in tho channel, washed the men, who were clinging numbed with the bittor cold, off the upturned boat. Buchanan ; made gallant efforts tx> savo Freenoy; he became exhausted and was dashed against the rocks and sank. It is evident that sharks -attacked some of the- victims while attempting to reach, the land. Tho bodies of three of the victims were recovered a day or two later, and with those now recovered twelve of the party are accounted for.
