As the fleet lay in long lines in the darkness their presence overhead was indicated by harsh buzzing. Manoeuvring in the daylight, .in open water, the seaplanes wheel hawk-like and the aeroplanes skim like wild dncks. The 'whole fleet appears . as an • overwhelming manifestation of power, ordered, silent, and restrained.
