METHODIST CHURCH

QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Methodist Church, Wellington South, was held last night in tho Trinity Schoolroom. The Rev. J. Ward presided over a large attendance from ' all parts of the circuit. The returns from tho Sunday School mid Christian Endeavour were stated to bo encouraging. The. balance-sheet showed a credit on the quarter's working. ■ it was announced that in August tho Rev. T. G. Hamner, of'the West Coast Maori Mission, and in September tho Rev. W. R. l'oole, of tho Fiji Homo and Foreign Mission departments of the Church, would visit tip circuit, and arrangements were made for their meetings. Special collections to assist in bringing to New Zealand home missionaries from Cliff College, England, wero authorised, and a spccial appeal for tho Domirion Deaconess Training Institute was approved. A resolution expressing appreciation of the Bible. in Schools Bill now before Parliament, and urging the member for the district to support it, with his vote was earned unanimously.
