MAN'S FOOT AMPUTATED,

Auckland July 20. While attempting to board a car ia motion at Newmarket on. Saturday • night, Alfred Langwell, aged 35, slipped under the car and had his right foot badly crushed. Dr. Williams attended the sufferer, and it was found neceesary to amputate the foot. Besides having his foot injured, LangwelPs cheeks were badly cut, and several of his teeth, were knocked out. Ho is still in a bad, though not serious, condition. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE IN HOTEL BAR. Chrlstchurch, July 20.
