A very successful social in aid of tlo fund* of the -Martinborongh Barss Baud was held in the local'l'ublic Hall on Wednesday evening. The hall had been kindly' lent free of charge for the occasion, and many other ways the residents of Dyerville helped to mako the orening the success it no doubt was. Music for dancing was supplied by the band, assisted by Mesdames Nicholson and Campbell Smith (piano).' A lady visitor gave a charming" exhibition <>f fancy dancing, for which did was loudly applauded. A novelty for Dyerville,. was' |he "tango" dan* , by two dusk;? Maori maidens. Mr. H. Daysh contributed songs; Mr: J. Cano, oa behalf of.-the band, thanjied tho Hall-Commit-tee and people, of for, thoir generous help. Mr. H. Day eh briefls responded. - •• '. -:
