ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
1 A PECULIAR ACCIDENT. A peculiar tramcar accident occuned in' Elizabeth Stroot at 9 o'clock yesterday morning. As a tram bound for . the city was passipg the Wellington Dairy Company's premises, a horse attached to a milk-cart suddenly swung round. The shaft pierced the side of raid tramcar, and struck a lady, who received slight injuries. The horse then bolted, but was subsequently caught. SHOT BY A PEA-RIFLE. While walking from Tory Street through Buckle Street, towards Taranaki Street, yesterday afternoon a boy aged about fourteen years, was shot in the palm of "one of his hands. Last evening- the, police did not know the • boy's namo or how the affair happened. From what could be gathered, the bullet was fired from" a pea-rifle. JAMMED'BETWEEN TRUCKS.' Chrlatchurch, July 17. - At Lyttelton yesterday evening Jamea Eady, aged 63, employed by the Railway Department until he retired a few years ago, "was killed by being jammed between two trucks. Anthony Farrcll. a single man, aged 66 years, who appeared at the Police : Court on Friday on a charge of drunkenness, and was remanded for a week for medical-treatment, died in pital yestorday. Auckland, July 17. - ; While driving his cart alone one of the city thoroughfares this afternoon, ; Thomas Edwards was heavily thrown to the ground, sustaining concussion of the brain.
